Creating a Retirement Paycheck

We find that one of our client’s retirement concerns which produces the most anxiety is:

“How am I going to create a paycheck with my nest egg to replace my work paycheck?”

Although it seems a little simplistic, we sometimes uses the analogy of a hen laying eggs. The idea is not to sell or kill the “hen” (the investments) to create your retirement income, but to live off of the “eggs” (the interest and dividends).

While only time will relieve most nervousness, we help by creating a financial plan which is designed to generate real income streams through the use of:

  • Stocks
  • Bonds
  • Real estate investment trusts
  • Master limited partnerships
  • Mutual funds

By balancing these income sources properly, you can have the confidence that you will not only have a paycheck for the next couple of years, but throughout your retirement.

Providing clients with a report similar to the sample below often helps our clients feel more confident in their retirement paycheck.
